1/10
Well, I've been icing and stretching for 4 days and tonight I decided to test out the tendon a bit. I did something simple- walked on the treadmill at an incline and at 4.0 mph for 2 miles. And the great news is that my ankle felt really good after! So, I am going to continue the ice and stretching and then TRY one mile on the treadmill on Sunday...hopefully in another week I'll be back to my training schedule.

Hey Maris!
Good for you!!! What was the incline percentage? Inclines always give me shin splints, so I'm always a 0% to be safe.
2 miles and no pain? That's great! Take it slow. Like you said, you don't want to hurt yourself worse and end up not exercising for weeks. It stinks to be down and out when you're head and heart are raging to pump forward and your body hurts. My girlfriend Heather has been running many marathons for about 4 years now.
This past one that she started out with in Minnesota- her and her husband started out and then about two miles in, her quad, which had been giving her trouble started to tighten up. . . at mile 8, she had to stop. Her husband met her at the finish line thinking she had run it and she cried for 15 minutes after all the training, etc., etc.... She's now training for her 4th Boston Marathon and is agonizing over the fact that her quad may kick out on her again, but she's pushing forth....thought I'd share that with you b/c you're not alone. . .
